From one story to many solutions

We build computer labs, train students in digital literacy, and provide school supplies to remove financial barriers to education for adolescents in Benin, West Africa.

The model that started it all

The proof came before the organization

In November 2012, Cercle Social opened a computer lab at CEG Tori Agouako in Benin. Over three academic years the results were measured — and that proven model is what One-to-Many was founded on in 2019.

These figures come from the Cercle Social program at CEG Tori Agouako (2012–2015), co-founded and led by our founder. They describe the model One-to-Many was built on, not One-to-Many's own activity since 2019.

Why we exist

Quality public education is a right, not a choice

One-to-Many uses technology and data as educational tools to improve the quality of education in schools in developing countries.

We target underfunded public schools with low enrollment and completion rates, focusing on girls, orphans, and vulnerable youth.

Our founder

Hermann DeSouza

Hermann is originally from Benin, West Africa. He speaks English, French and Fon, plus four regional dialects. He spent fifteen years at a major global technology company mastering process improvement, quality control management, operational scalability, and product delivery.

He helped launch Cercle Social in 2010 and led all of its programs and projects from 2012 to 2018 — including the computer lab at CEG Tori Agouako. That work led him to found One-to-Many in 2019.

“It is education, the use of data, and new technology in schools that will transform developing countries.”

Our programs

Three programs, four questions

Four questions guide everything we do. Three programs answer them on the ground.

Schooling

Is every adolescent getting a chance to be educated?

Teaching

Are students in the hands of great teachers?

Learning

Is what they learn relevant to daily life?

Connecting

Is there engagement from local communities?

Students-to-Sponsor

School supplies, tuition support and essential materials, so a family's financial limits never stop an adolescent from going to school and staying there.

Data-to-Drive

Computer labs, digital literacy, and helping school teams use their own data to improve outcomes — beyond exam scores alone.

Engagement communautaire

Community Engagement

Bringing parents, teachers and local leaders together to build an ecosystem where education is valued and sustained by the whole community.
